Advanced 3D Animation – Self Critique

When comparing myself to last semester, I noticed that my animation skill has improved. I have been integrating more subtle movements and anticipation into my animations. At the beginning of this semester, during the “Emotions” animation project, I have been revisiting and adding more subtle movements to my animations to give them a more realistic feel, as well as slightly exaggerated for 3D animation purposes.
Overall, I see an improvement of some of the basic principles of animation: ease in and ease out, anticipation, secondary actions, and timing. I will continue to incorporate more subtle movements and I will continue to utilize most, if not all, of the principles of design and try to make my animations more fluid and professional. This will ultimately help me in other areas of animation, like 2D animation and even motion graphics, and it will further push my work to new heights.
